Alright, my Husband bought me a Mountain Bike off of craigslist. I’m not a hardcore cycler, really I know nothing about bikes. I just loved riding them as a kid and since I just had a baby, I could really use the exercise. Anyways, it’s one of those cheapy $140 Mongoose Wal-Mart Bikes. It’s a 21 speed dual suspension. It’s supposed to be a freewheel bike but it is acting like a Fixed wheel (I’ve been searching all night and just learned the terminology lol). The pedals go when you push it and you absolutely cannot pedal backwards, if you try the chain gets baggy and when you let go of the pedals they spin quickly forward back into place. Anyone have any thought what could be incorrect with my bike? Any help would be appreciated. It stinks I can’t coast or pedal backwards.
-The wheels are the original wheels that came with the bike. All of the parts are the originals, nothing has been changed. The lady he bought it from bought it last year, rode it twice and place it up. It is in perfect condition besides this problem.
