My oldest son is now 5 and ready to go on some more serious bike rides. I’ve by now picked out a bike trailer for our younger son but I’m finding it a lot more hard to pick out a bike that I would like because i can’t even figure out which kind I want! Because we will have the trailer and a 5 year ancient, I don’t see us attempting any hard trails so I’ve crossed mountain bikes off my list, but cruisers, comforts and hybrids all seem to have their merits. Which is best for me?
1) No serious trail rides.
2) Pulling a 30 lb bike trailer with up to 100 lbs worth of kids
3) Frequently side walk riding with occassional state park paths, etc
4) Possible commuting to the grocery store
5) Possible riding on the beach
6) Using on day trips to explore new places, so could be riding them all day
7) Frequently using on flat surfaces with an occassional causeway
